A chirping alarm is the polite version. Missing or battery-only units in a rental are a compliance problem.
NSW rental rules expect working, compliant smoke alarms. Owner-occupiers should treat the same standard as the minimum, not a landlord-only job. Interconnected, photoelectric units in the right locations are what we fit.
We replace expired alarms, convert battery units to hardwired where the ceiling allows, and interconnect so one room going off wakes the rest of the house.
